An historic Iran nuclear deal has been reached!
This morning, the EU announced that an historic nuclear deal between the P5+1 (China, France, Russia, the U.K., U.S. + Germany) and Iran has been reached.
The statement of the EU can be accessed here. Details of the agreement are still sketchy, although reports in the media state of a 158-page long agreement specifying the conditions in which the agreement will be implemented, and how sanctions will be uplifted.
Interesting is that the EU statement sates that the agreement foresees that all sanctions will be uplifted –
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action includes Iran’s own long-term plan with agreed limitations on Iran’s nuclear program, and will produce the comprehensive lifting of all UN Security Council sanctions as well as multilateral and national sanctions related to Iran’s nuclear program, including steps on access in areas of trade, technology, finance, and energy.
Let’s see how this pans-out, as in previous statements, the U.S. Government stated that not all sanctions would be uplifted – terrorism related sanctions…. Details to follow.
