Airstrikes in Syria: UK House of Commons votes in favor of bombing Isis in Syria

Yesterday, in a 10-hour emotional debate, the House of Commons voted in favor of authorizing airstrikes in Syria against Isis.

Despite the emotions, an overwhelming amount of Members of Parliament voted in favor of airstrikes (397 in favor and 223 against – a higher than expected majority).

According to the BBC, the British Ministry of Defence confirmed that within hours of the vote, RAF Tornado jets carried out their first air strikes against so-called Islamic State in Syria, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.
